  • Cost: $99 per class

  • Requirements: Bring your own sewing machine and attachments (does not need to be an expensive model)

  • Additional Costs: You will need to purchase extras for your project such as material, pattern, scissors, etc. A sewing supply list will be provided on the first day of class. Items typically total between $60-$100.

Located at 1912 W 174th Street, this event is open to the public and provides a fantastic opportunity for households to securely shred sensitive documents, recycle electronic waste, and safely dispose of prescription drugs. Please note that this service is for households only—no businesses. Take advantage of onsite shredding and collection services available until the trucks are full. Bring your documents, old electronics, and medications to help make our community safer and greener. We look forward to seeing you there!

Lead Service Line Replacement Project Notice:

The Village of Dixmoor is pleased to announce a project to replace all of their lead service lines. The replacement work for the Village was wholly financed by the Water Pollution Control Loan Program through the State Revolving Fund (SRF).  The SRF program is administered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and receives a portion of its money to fund these types of projects from the U.S.Environmental Protection Agency.  SRF programs operate in each state to provide communities the resources necessary to build, maintain, and improve the infrastructure that protects one of our most valuable resources: water. Calling all college students and recent grads!  Join the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) this summer and gain valuable experience working in clean energy. IREC is offering paid internships in a variety of departments, including communications, local initiatives, Puerto Rico programs, regulatory reform, and workforce development.
Interns will have the opportunity to:
* Work on projects that are making a difference in the world
* Gain experience in a fast-growing industry
* Learn from experts in the field of clean energy
